تم تطوير اللعبة ونشرها بواسطة شركة سن سوفت ﻷجهزة سوبر نينتيندو كأول اطﻻق للعبة 
عام 1994 ونشرت بعدها فالعام التالي مباشرة ﻷجهزة سيجا جينيسيس. -

قصة اللعبة تتبع حدث موت سوبر مان بدءا من الوقت الذي كان اﻷندرولدرز اتباع كلوستر يسيطرون على محطة كهربا ميتروبولس ..تتابع احداث قصة اللعبة ويعود سوبرمان مرة اخرى في معركة مع السايبورج في مغامرة له للتخلص من اﻷشرار عبر عدة مراحل شيقة. -

The Death and Return of Superman is a beat 'em up video game developed and published by sunsoft in 1994 for SNES and for mega drive in 1995 . its based on the Death of Superman storyline. It features many characters from the comics, including Superman himself, Superboy, Steel, Cyborg, the Eradicator, and Doomsday. All of the five Supermen are playable characters at some point. The game follows the events of the Death of Superman starting from the time that the Underworlders (led by Clawster) take over the Metropolis Power Plant to Superman's return and defeat of the Cyborg.
