لعبة شدو اوف ذا بيست او ظل الوحش اعتبرت كثورة في عالم اﻷلعاب في ذلك الوقت وذلك بسبب الجرافيكس او الرسومات مع العديد من اﻷلوان على الشاشة في 12 مرحلة مختلفة كانت على مستوى نادر لم يرى له مثيل من قبل في جميع العاب اﻷكشن في ذلك الوقت ، قصة اللعبة تتحدث عن رجل يدعى آربورن كان قد خطف عندما كان طفلا وقد حوله احد السحرة اﻷشرار الى مقاتل وحشي يعمل تحت إمرته ، تعود ذاكرة آربورن اﻷنسانية اليه عندما شاهد اعدام احد البشر اليه ويتذكر ان هذا الرجل هو والده وانه هو فاﻷصل بشري ،عندها يبدأ بطل اللعبة مغامرته عبر عدة مراحل مختلفة لﻷنتقام من الساحر الشرير لقتل والده وايظا تحويله الى وحش .

Shadow of the Beast is a side-scrolling platform video game produced by Reflectionsand published by Psygnosis in 1989. The original version was released for theCommodore Amiga, and was later ported to many other systems. Shadow of the Beast is considered revolutionary at the time, because of its graphics, with many more colours on screen and up to twelve levels of parallax scrolling backdrops, were of a level rarely if ever seen before in action games. It was also notable for its atmospheric score composed by David Whittaker that used high-quality instrument samples.
A man named Aarbron is kidnapped as a child and corrupted through magic into a monstrous warrior-servant for the evil beast lord Maletoth. The creature's memory of his human life returns when he watches a man being executed, whom he later recognizes as his father. This prompts Aarbron to seek revenge on Maletoth. A long ardous journey ensues, with Aarbron forced to battle his way through both hostile terrain and Maletoths forces. He eventually confronts one of Maletoths minions, a gargantuan creature whose only visible body is its hand and foot. Defeating the creature, Aarbron is freed from his curse, the titular "shadow of the beast", and returned to a more humanoid f
