ميتل سلج ،اول العاب السلسلة وفي جيم بلي اللعبة يجب على اللاعب التحرك في مراحل 2دي والتصويب على جيوش اﻷعداء في طريقه للوصول الى نهاية كل مرحلة ،يحصل اللاعب على مميزات في طريقه تزيد من قوته وقت السلاح الذي يملكه ،لعبة جميلة وتميزت ايظا بحس الفكاهة.حصلت اللعبة على تقييمات ايجابية بشكل عام.

It was originally released in 1996 for theNeo Geo MVS arcade platform. The game is widely known for its sense of humor, fluidhand-drawn animation, and fast paced two-player action. It is the first title in the Metal Slug series. It has been ported to the Neo Geo CD, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Virtual Console,PlayStation Network, iOS, Android and Neo Geo X, and to the Wii, PlayStation Portableand PlayStation 2 (as part of the Metal Slug Anthology).
